Keep up to date on volunteer opportunities and how to effectively organize for victory in November 2010.

This month we will be focusing on important contests facing us at the May Election:

• Measure 24-292 - Saturate the county with information about the devastation this measure will cause for Marion County
• Salem mayor - We have endorsed and need to rally support for Anna Peterson
• Salem council - We are supporting Peter Dassow in Ward 2 and Rich Clauson in Ward 4
• State Superintendent of Public Ed - We are supporting Dr. Ron Maurer in his effort to unseat Susan Castillo

Each of these campaigns are worth the support of all of us. We also need volunteers for the other activities we are starting. Please come, listen to the discussions, add your own two cents, and get involved.

AFP County Ballot Measures: They are ready to roll. For months AFP has been carefully preparing two measures that will really shake things up in Marion County! Come pick up signature sheets and prepare yourself with a brief refresher on the "Dos and Don'ts of gathering signatures.

• Anti-Identity Theft Measure - Requires all employers with 5 or more employees to use the Federal E-Verify system.
• Fiscal Responsibility Measure - Limits increases in county spending to rate of inflation plus population growth.
